Robotic Surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery is a form of minimally invasive surgery where a surgeon uses a specialized system—such as the da Vinci Surgical System—to control robotic instruments with extreme precision. Rather than replacing the surgeon, the robot translates the surgeon’s hand movements into smaller, highly controlled motions inside the patient’s body, often guided by a high-definition 3D camera. For patients, this approach typically offers several advantages over traditional open surgery, including smaller incisions, reduced blood loss, less postoperative pain, and lower risk of infection. It can also lead to shorter hospital stays and faster recovery times, allowing patients to return to normal activities more quickly.
